National Conference on Knowledge Management on 05.02.2019

Aided stream of Department of commerce organized a National Conference on Knowledge Management on Tuesday, the 05 February 2019.The Registration for the programme started at 9.00 am. our college principal Dr.P.N. Sudha presided over the function. The conference was inaugurated by Dr.D. Gajapathy, Director, KMG Educational Institutions, Gudiyattam at 10.00 am by Lighting the lamp. In the Inaugural address, Dr.D. Gajapathy Stressed upon the importance of Knowledge Management in the modern business. Previously the welcome address was delivered by Dr.R.Padmaja, Head, Department of Commerce. The Inaugural session was ended up by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr.A. Sudarvizhi, Assistant Professor of Commerce.
    After short Tea break, the Technical session – I was commenced and it was headed by the Resource person Dr.R. VeluRaj Ph.D., Head, Department of Co-operative Management, Tagore Government Arts and Science College, Pondicherry. He delivered the address on the Theme “Role of Information Technology in Knowledge Management”. In his speech he highly focused upon how the Information Technology can be used in the field of Knowledge Management? He interacted lively with the students and solved many questions asked by the students.
The valediction session starts at 4.00pm.The Chief guest for the valedictory session was Dr.R. Suseela Ph.D, Former Associate Professor of Commerce, DKM College for Women Vellore. She delivered the valedictory address and distributed the certificates to the paper presenters and participants.
            After the Lunch break, Technical session-II was commenced and it was headed by the Resources person Dr.D. Vetrivelan Ph.D., Head, Department of Management Studies, Don Bosco College, Yelagiri Hills, Vellore District. He addressed the gatherings on the Topic “Intellectual property rights”. He focused on the how to get the patent rights for the innovative products and existing products? He also stressed upon what are the steps involved in getting the patents, copyrights, trademarks etc. Students were very much impressed in the information for rights that have been received for Tirupathi ‘Ladoo’ and Thirunalveli ‘Alwa’. The session was interactive and thought provoking. After Technical session-II, students presented the papers on the Theme.

The students from various other University and Colleges such as, VIT University, Voorhees College, Auxilium college, KMG college of Arts & Science, M.K. Jain College for Women, Tagore Arts & Science College, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Islamiah Women’s Arts and Science College, Sacred heart College, Saradha Gangadharan College were participated in the conference and got benefit. Our college commerce students around 200 students participated in the conference. The programme was ended at 5.00 pm.

Valedictory Programme Report

Women Development Cell inaugurated a Cosmetology Certificate Course on 30/01/2019 in collaboration with Mahitha Beauty Care Centre for the aided and unaided students. Dr.Amirthavalli, Head, Associate Professor in History inaugurated the certificate course. About 70 students registered for the basic course. The classes were conducted for both the shifts for the duration of 2 hours.

Valedictory of the programme was conducted on 13-02-2019 at 11a.m. Dr. M.Manimozhi, Assistant Professor in English welcomed the gathering. Mrs.S.Meenambari, the proprietor of Mahitha Beauty Care Centre, Vellore presided over the function. Dr.Amirthavalli, Head, Associate Professor in History, and Coordinator of WDC addressed the students on the importance of women entrepreneurs in today’s scenario. The Chief Guest Mrs. Mrs.S.Meenambari distributed certificates to the students. Feedbacks were collected from all the students. Mrs. Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

Report on “Scope of Higher Education”was organized by Department of Physics – 08.02.19

One day seminar on “Scope of Higher Education” was organized by Department of Physics, DKM College for Women (Autonomous),Vellore on 8th February 2019. The Department requested Dr.R. Ravisankar, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Government Arts College, Tiruvannamalai, and P. Sundar Raj, Project Coordinator Universal Higher Education Trust (UHET), VIT Campus Vellore, to be the Resource Persons for the one day Seminar.

 On day seminar (08/02/19), was inaugurated at 9.30 A.M in the Kaveri Hall with Prayer Song. Miss. Vanie Sree Lalitha Magaeshwarie, first year B.Sc., chemistry student, DKMC, delivered the welcome address to the gathering and the members on the dice.  

First lecture was given by Mr. P. Sundar Raj, Project Coordinator Universal Higher Education Trust (UHET), VIT Campus Vellore, on “Face the Future”. In second session, the lecture was delivered by Dr. R. Ravisankar, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Government Arts College, Tiruvannamalai, entitled “Radiations and its applications”.

Both the sessions were interesting and students got lot of informations. During question session, lots of questions were raised by faculty and participants and satisfactory explanations were given by both resource persons.

  Valedictory function was started at 1.00 P.M. Student gave their feedback regarding both the sessions. The valedictory function came to an end with the vote of thanks given by Ms. Hamsalakshmi, first year B.Sc., chemistry student, DKMC, who thanked all the members actively involved for successful completion of the seminar.

ONE DAY GUEST LECTURE PROGRAMME



The Department of Mathematics organized one day Guest Lecture Programme on 01.02.19. The meeting started with prayer at 10.00 a.m. in a traditional way and the kuthuvilakku was lit by the Chief Guests.  Mrs. L. Sowmyalatha, Head and Associate Professor of Mathematics welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. A. Sugumaran, Ph.D., Associate Professor & Head, Department of Mathematics, Govt. Arts College, Thiruvannamalai. The Chief Guest delivered a lecture on  “AN INTRODUCTION TO GAME THEORY”. He discussed about Game theory which is the part of Operations Research. Game Theory is the study of strategic decision-making. It can also be described as an “Interactive Decision Theory”. It emerged during the 1940’s and was then primarily used in the field of Economics. Over the decades since its inception, Game Theory has been applied in Sociology, Biology, Operations Research and wireless communication. The Chief Guest explained about the development of some of the theoretical concepts and computational techniques of Game Theory. He also discussed the meaning and features of the term `games’ as well as some terminology associated with games. He explained the method of decision-making in two-person zero-sum games and some of the applications of Game Theory in the field of Coding Theory, Cryptography and Satellite Communication. The UG, PG students and Research scholars of Mathematics of about 500 in number attended the Guest Lecture and benefited from this programme. Dr. K. Ameenal  Bibi, Associate  Professor of Mathematics proposed the vote of thanks. The Meeting came to an end with National Anthem.



‘The Readers Circle’ conducted by Department of Tamil and College Library on 04.02.19.

The Department of Tamil and the Department of Library Science Conducted “The Reader’s Circle” on 04.02.2019.  The Welcome address was given by Dr.G.Sujatha HOD of Tamil who briefed the gathering on book reviews.  She asked  the students to write their own stories, and poems which will be possible only if they inculcate the reading habit.  The following staff gave a talk on books and reading
