The institution promotes and monitors creation of new knowledge in an ethical and evidence based research environment which is disseminated through publication and research to meet the emerging social and industrial needs. The institution encourages staff doing research. They are allowed to make use of the available infrastructure facilities in the campus. Several research projects are approved by UGC, MHRD and TNSCST during this period for which all necessary facilities were provided by the management.

The college promotes research by constituting the committee consists of the faculty members who have completed their Ph.D. The committee mainly motivates and insists the faculty members to register for Ph. D, to publish papers in reputed scientific journals, books and to apply for major & minor projects. A good number of papers have been published in national and international journals. Similarly the number of Ph. D holders has increased from 5 in 2007-08 to 10 in 2012-13 and 3 members have submitted their Ph. D thesis and the number of M. Phil scholars has also increased. Research projects were approved by UGC and TNSCST during this period for which all necessary facilities were provided by the management.

The college management encourages the faculties to do research. Mrs. R. Padmaja of Commerce Department was permitted to go under F.I.P scheme of UGC to pursue Ph. D during 2011-12 at Madras University. The chemistry Department started full time/part time M. Phil and Research program in the year 2009. At present the following departments of Mathematics, Zoology, Commerce, and History from aided stream were given recognition for the Ph. D programme by Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore.

The unaided stream of our college has M. Phil programme from 2009 onwards in the following departments Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Nutrition, Commerce, Computer Science, Business Administration, and English

As a result of committee’s efforts, students have come out with lot of research initiatives. Research thrust has been infused into the M. Sc students who are carrying out projects. M. Phil students are working on their dissertation. The formation of research groups in every department has also motivated them further.

The college encourages students to visit various research institutions to gain research knowledge. The management and the college stimulate faculty members to conduct International, National level conferences, seminars and workshops. Eminent scientists of various disciplines are invited for special lectures in their specialized areas.

Collaborative researches are undertaken by the staff and students of different Departments with other institution in India and abroad and papers are presented in conferences and published in journals.
