Imitation Jewellery Training Programme
(2018-2019)

Women Development Cell conducted the Inauguration of Imitation Jewellery Training programme on 06.02.2019 at 10.00 a.m in the D’block conference hall. The training is given for 3 days from 06.02.2019 to 08.02.2019 from 9.30 A.M to 5.00 P.M in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development, Tamilnadu. Dr. P.N Sudha, the Principal, DKM College for women felicitated the chief guest. Mr.I.Rooben, Coordinator, District Supply and Marketing Society, Department of Rural Development, Tamilnadu addressed the gathering about the importance of skill development among women. About 72 students from various departments of aided and unaided stream participated in the programme and benefitted greatly. Students were trained to make silk thread jewelry, oxidized jewelry, pearl works in bangles, neck wears, bracelets, anklets, studs and hangings.

The valedictory programme took place on 08/02/2019 at 12.30 p.m in the D’block conference hall. Mr.I.Ruben,Coordinator, District Supply and Marketing Society, Department of Rural Development, Tamilnadu presided the function and distributed the certificates to the students. 72 students participated and benefitted from this skill training programme.

The training was found to be useful as per the feedback forms collected from the students. Mrs.Bharathi, Assistant professor in Microbiology and member of WDC presented the vote of thanks. The training programme successfully concluded with the National Anthem.
