Teaching / Learning

The college campus, clean and green, has multi – storied buildings with spacious, bright, and well-ventilated classrooms. The science and computer laboratories are well – equipped. In addition, there is an English Language lab. The Language Lab is utilized by students of all majors to improve their English language and communication skills. Special platforms enable the students to enhance their pronunciation. Centralized generator facility enables the smooth functioning of the administrative and lab work.

Transport

The college provides bus facility for the students to commute from different parts of the district at a nominal amount. Our College has a very good Transport System. It’s mainly for the Girls those who come from long distance.

Hostel

The college has hostel situated in campus. Accommodation with nutritious food is provided to all the inmates of the hostel. The Principal is the Chief Warden. Other facilities in the hostel include STD booth, common television and study rooms.

Canteen

An exclusive canteen is available in the campus offering tasty and hygienic food. Food, beverages, snacks, stationaries, and all products of basic necessity are available inside the campus itself. The food in the canteen is available at reasonable and affordable cost.

Library

The college consists of 2 main libraries and 17 departmental libraries which sport a vast range of books which support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. These excellent ever growing libraries have a good collection of books on various subjects of different disciplines of science, humanities and social science. Now the Central Library comprises of 33010 books, 28 Journals, 11 free e-journals, 8 Magazines, 544 Theses, 79 Projects, 211 Book Bank, 2907 Back Volumes and other non materials like 351 DVD & CD.

We are member in UGC-INFLIBNET N-LIST programme, we have subscribed N-LIST programme were we can access for the e-resources (6000+ journals and 97000+ eBooks). We have partially implemented Barcode Technology and in future RFID Technology is going to be implemented which will make the library user more comfortable and fast & quick access of resources in the library and to computerize the central library.

Internet facility

The college provides WI-FI facility to all the departments and libraries with a bandwidth of Railwire 10Mbps dedicated fiber optic

Sports facility

The department of Physical Education offers coaching for various games like Volleyball, Handball, Football, Ball Badminton, Shuttle, Athletics, Judo, Carom, Table Tennis and Chess. The teams are cared by individual coaches. Kits and tracks are provided to all the students. An indoor stadium is also in the process of construction.

Seminar Halls

Seminar Hall is a place where most of the academic activities happen. DKMC has well equipped Air Conditioned 2 mini seminar halls which can accommodate 250 members and a main conference hall which can accommodate 600 members. It is a centre for knowledge acquisition since right ambiance is created with a podium, a computer system with internet facility, an LCD projector, a sound system and speakers. Guest lectures are arranged for the benefit of students. Briefly, it is learning place keeping aside the class room.

Smart Class Rooms

The classrooms architecturally designed with optimal room for natural light and air. They provide a vibrant backdrop to the academic achievements and offer a unique place to study, relax and develop. The classrooms are equipped with an array of hi-tech equipment which enables the competent teachers to conduct classes in such a manner that the students can make use of all the available resources at the click of a button. In this very special learning environment, LCD projectors, video players [for language labs] are available. All these facilities enable the teachers to teach in a unique and innovative manner which makes the students feel involved in the teaching – learning process and improves the pace and quality of learning.

Further the students are exercised to prove their skills by allowing them to give presentations during the class work. To make the students have better access of all the concepts that they have to present, the faculties have provided a date-wise schedule of the topics.

Laboratories

State-of-the-art laboratories are the back bone of any college. Practical exposure brings real value to degree. DKM has all the laboratories with the latest equipment. There are multimedia English Language Labs with all the sophisticated equipment, especially to train students in communicative aspects of English.
