‘The Readers Circle’ conducted by Department of Tamil and College Library on 04.02.19.

The Department of Tamil and the Department of Library Science Conducted “The Reader’s Circle” on 04.02.2019.  The Welcome address was given by Dr.G.Sujatha HOD of Tamil who briefed the gathering on book reviews.  She asked  the students to write their own stories, and poems which will be possible only if they inculcate the reading habit.  The following staff gave a talk on books and reading

ONE DAY NATIONAL LEVEL SEMINAR
on
“RECENT TRENDS IN DISCRETE MATHEMATICS”

            The Department of Mathematics organized one day National level Seminar on the topic “RECENT TRENDS IN MATHEMATICS” on 25.01.19.   The meeting started with prayer at 9.30 a.m. in a traditional way and the kuthuvilakku was lit by the Chief Guests. Ms. L. Sowmyalatha, Head and Associate Professor of Mathematics welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest Dr. A.P. Pushpalatha, Ph.D., Dr. G. Jothilakshmi, Ph.D., with  her warm and cordial words. Dr. K. Ameenal  Bibi, Associate Professor of Mathematics gave the inaugural address to the gathering.   The resource person for the first session was Dr. A.P. Pushpalatha, Ph.D.,Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and  the topic was  “EXCELLENCE IN GRAPHS”. Vital areas in Discrete mathematics particularly in Graph theory were discussed.  She explained in detail the various parameters in graphs.

The Resource person for the second session was Dr. G. Jothilakshmi, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai.  She spoke about “DOMINATION IN GRAPHS”.  She elaborated the qualities possessed by the graph like excellent graph, very excellent graph and rigid excellent graph.

      The Resource person for the third session was Dr. M. Siva Parvathi, Ph.D.,   Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalam, Tirupathi. She lectured on the topic “SIGNED UNI DOMINATION OF SOME STANDARD GRAPHS”. She provided a platform for researchers and motivated students for doing research in domination of Graph Theory.

The Resource person for the last session was Dr. INDRANI PRAMOD KELKAR, Ph. D., Professor, Dean – Students Welfare, Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore and her topic was  “MATHEMATICS FOR MACHINE LEARNING”.  Essential math for machine learning like Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, Statistics, and their applications were discussed.

There was an interactive session between the speaker and the participants to clarify their doubts. The students were highly motivated by attending the seminar. The UG, PG students and Research scholars of Mathematics of about 500 in number from our college attended the seminar. About 100 students and some faculty members from nearby colleges such as Voorhees College, Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women’s College, Muthurangam Government Arts College, Auxilium College, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Thiruvalluvar Arts and Science College, Arakonnam, Government Arts College, Nandhanam, Jaya College of Arts and Science  also participated and benefited from this programme. The Seminar brought together the Teaching fraternity and the Researchers in sharing their knowledge and experiences. This seminar provided a platform for the researchers and the students to delve into various research areas in Applied Mathematics.  
Dr. K. Ameenal  Bibi, Associate  Professor of Mathematics proposed the vote of thanks. The Meeting came to an end with National Anthem.



Report on “Imitation Jewellery Training Programme” organised by Women Development Cell

(2018-2019)

Women Development Cell conducted the Inauguration of Imitation Jewellery Training Programme on 06.02.2019 at 10.00 a.m in D’Conference hall. The training is to be given for 3 days from 06.02.2019 to 08.02.2019 in collaboration with Department of Rural Development, Tamilnadu. Dr. P.N Sudha, Prinicipal, DKM College for women felicitated the function. Mr.I.Ruben,Coordinator, District Supply and Marketing Society, Department of Rural Development, Tamilnadu addressed the students about the importance of skill development among women. About 70 students from various department of aided and unaided stream participated the programme.

 

National Level Technical Symposium on 31/01/2019 by Department of Computer Science and Applications

Department of computer Science and Applications conduct National Level Technical Symposium on 31/01/2019 in D Block Conference Hall. Dr.M. Suriakala, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Government Arts College for Men(Autonomous), Nandanam, Chennai Acted as a Cheif Guest in this Symposium. Dr.P. Sasikumar, M.E., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Embedded Technology, School of Electronics Engineering, VIT, Vellore acted as a Resource Person in Afternoon session of this symposium.

Report of Alumni Association Meeting 2018 -19

D.K.M. College for women organized Alumni Association Meeting on 27. 01.2018 at 11 a.m in the D – Conference hall. Dr. P.N.Sudha, the Principal of D.K.M College welcomed the gathering with the warm words of welcome.

Mr.Maninathan, the secretary of D.K.M College delivered the felicitation address.

Dr. R. Jabeena Begum, Assistant Professor in Physics read the annual report of the Alumni association 2017 -2018 and gratefully remembered the selfless works of the previous year’s office bearers of the Alumni Association and she also introduced the new office bearers.
Mrs. N. Selvarani, senior manager of Indian Bank, Vellore was elected as the president of the Alumni association for the year 2019. Mrs.Kalavathy,Rt.P.G.Assitant Govt.Hr.Sec.School, Vellore as the Vice president, Mrs. D. Kalaivany, branch manager of State Bank of India, as the secretary and Dr. G. Vijaylakshmi, Assistant professor of History as the treasurer of the Association. About 700 Alumni participated in the programme and thanked the college administration for arranging such a programme.  All the office bearers addressed the gathering and expressed their memories associated with the college. Some of the Alumni from the gathering participated in the meeting by sharing their experiences in the college. Prof. R. Sarathy from the Department of English proposed the vote of thanks.

In the afternoon, a sumptuous lunch was arranged for all the Alumni and a gift as a token of bond was given to them.

 

 

Cosmetology Certificate Course organized by Women Development Cell, DKMC

COSMETOLOGY CERTIFICATE COURSE 2018-19
Women Development Cell inaugurated Cosmetology Certificate Course on 30/01/2019 in collaboration with Mahitha Beauty Care Centre for the aided and unaided students. Dr.Amirthavalli, Head, Associate Professor in History inaugurated the certificate course. About 70 students registered for the basic course. The classes are to be held in both the shifts for the duration of 2 hours.
