Report on Online E-Quiz on “Hepatitis disease”

The Department of Biotechnology conducted an online E-Quiz programme conducted on 27.07.2020 and 28.07.2020. 164 participants from various colleges registered and took part in the E-Quiz programme successfully. All the participants were endorsed with participation certificate.

Extension Activities by Department of Commerce at Government High School, Idayansathu on the Theme Consumer Awareness From 05.12.18 To 06.12.18

Department of Commerce (both Aided and Unaided Stream) of our college in association with Government High School, Idayansathu organised an extension activity on the theme “Consumer Awareness” between 05.12.18 and 06.12.18.

On the first day (05.12.18), the programme was inaugurated by the school Headmistress Mrs.Sathyabama. Welcome address was delivered by Dr,T.Bharathi, Assistant Professor of Commerce, DKM College for Women, Vellore and the special address was delivered by Dr.A.Sudarvizhi,  Assistant Professor of Commerce, DKM College for Women, Vellore. Various competitions such as speech, essay writing, Drawing on the theme were conducted to the school students. The students made the teachers happy with their dancing performance.

Our college students created awareness by performing drama and addressing them. Prizes were distributed to the winners on the day of valediction.

On the second day(06.12.18), games such as running race, potato race, cup building, straw and ball,and musical chair were conducted to the school students. On the same day Valediction function was conducted. Valedictory addresses were given by Dr.R.Padmaja, HOD(Aided) and Ms. Vijayanirmala, HOD(Unaided). Prizes were distributed to the winners.

At the end of the day, our college staff members planted the saplings at the school premises.

Sister Nivedita’s Sesquicentennial Celebrations on 13.02.2018

Sesquicentennial Celebrations of Sister Nivedita was held at our College on 13.02.2018. The Chariot housing the statue Sister Nivedita and Swamy Vivekananda reached the college at 9.30 am. Our Secretary and Principal garlanded the statues.615

On the same day Pulavar T.Ramalingam, Advocate, High court, Chennai addressed the gatherings at D-Block Conference Hall.

Report for Alumni Association Meeting

D.K.M. College for women organized Alumni Association Meeting on 28. 01.2018 at9 a.m in the D – Conference hall. Dr. J. Sujatha, Head, Department of Tamil invited the gathering with the warm words of welcome. It was followed with the presidential note from Dr. M. Nagaranam, Assistant professor of Chemistry.47

Prof. R. Sarathy from the Department of English helped the participants to look back the past by reading the annual report of the Alumni association 2016 -2017.

Dr. R. Banumanthy, Head, Department of Economics gratefully remembered the selfless works of the previous year’s office bearers of the Alumni Association and she also proudly introduced the new office bearers.

Mrs. N. Selvarani, senior manager of Indian Bank, Vellore was elected as the president of the Alumni association for the year 2018. Mrs.Kalavathy,Rt.P.G.AssitantGovt.Hr.Sec.School, Vellore as the Vice president, Mrs. D. Kalaivany, branch manager of State Bank of India, as the secretary and Dr. G. Vijaylakshmi, Assistant professor of History as the treasurer of the Association. All the office bearers addressed the gathering and expressed their memories associated with the college. Some of the Alumni from the gathering participated in the meeting by sharing their experiences in the college.

44The programmecame to an end with the National Anthem.An arranged photo session once again captured the happiest moment with all the Alumni. Alumni met their respective heads of the department and staff. They registered their names and exchanged their sweet memories with them. About 1500 Alumni participated in the programme and thanked the college administration for arranging such a programme. They also had a nice time to spend with their old friends. Afternoon, a sumptuous lunch was arranged for all the Alumni and a gift as a token of bond was given to them along with the sweet memories.
