Faculty Development Programme on “Quality Assurance in Higher Education”

 

On 17th December, 2016 IQAC has arranged Faculty Development program. Faculties from Aided and Unaided stream of our college and Faculties from other colleges had actively participated in the program. The occasion begun with a prayer song. Dr.R. Padmaja IQAC Advisor, DKMC gave welcome address. Our beloved Principal Dr. P.N.Sudha felicitated the chief guest of first session Dr. Srinivasan Latha, Assistant Professor in Chemistry, SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.

Our eminent chief guest begun the session with self appraising phrases  “Teachers are Facilitator’s”. She delivered the lecture on Building Competencies in Teachers for quality in education. The faculties participated enthusiastically. The session was highly interactive and filled with task based activities. She educated that teachers carry the important role in employing children. Teachers’ act as a “Changing agent” in the students’ life. Impacting the knowledge to the students is a major role played by the teachers. She concluded that teachers should develop certain competencies for the welfare of both self and student. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. S. Santha Lakshmi, Assistant Professor in Chemistry, DKMC.

The second session begun with the welcome address given by     Dr. R. Banumathy, IQAC Coordinator, DKMC. The invited Resource Person for the second session is Dr. Z. Zayapragassarazan Additional Professor of Educational Technology, Department of Medical Education JIPMER, Puducherry spoke on ICT for Research and Publications. The versatile professor explained the importance of Research which purely depends on Attitude. He motivated the faculties by surfing many websites connected to active research. He literated the faculties to make use of digital facilities in Research work. New technicalities in digital Research opens the gate of opportunities for tremendous growth. His motivational speech on Research and Research guidance enriched the idea of Research to be done more in the future. He concluded that “Attitude is the key to Success”. Proper predisposition is required to attain success. The day ened with vote of thanks given by Dr. V. Prabha, Assistant Professor in Biochemistry, DKMC. Feedback was collected from all the participants of our college. Faculties from our college and  other colleges shared their experiences about the programme of the day.               13

The Principal and the chief guest distributed the participation certificates to all the faculties. The programme end with the National Anthem.
