JRF Position in WTI_DST sponsored project at Department of Chemistry, DKM College for Women, Vellore
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work in the DST sponsored project (Project No. DST/TM/WTI/2K15/57(G)) titled “Development of nanochitosan/montmorillonite clay/polyvinyl alcohol nanofiltration mats for heavy metal containing tannery effluent treatment” funded by the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi (GOI). The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Educational Qualifications: M.Sc. Chemistry – I class with (CSIR/UGC) NET or M.Tech in Environmental Engineering.
Duration of the Project: Remaining period of sanctioned three years (from 31.03.2016 to 30.3.2019) with an initial appointment for one year, and subsequently renewable further after performance evaluation.

PG & Research Department of Chemistry organized II year PG paper presentation under RUSAC on 08.01.2016. Sixty students from 10 colleges were participated.10 students presented papers on the topic “Photochemistry and its Applications”. Thiru D.Maninathan, Secretary, Dr.P.N.Sudha, Principal, Dr.Xavier Rajarathinam, President, RUSAC felicitated the gathering.
NSS, Lions Club of Vellore and Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Adukamparai, Vellore jointly organized general medical camp and blood donation camp on 28.12.15. all the students
were sreened for haemoglobin and given calcium and iron tablets. 30 units of blood were donated by NSS volunteers.
The Department of Foods and Nutrition organized an “Income Generating Activity – Food Carnival” for the students on 30.12.2015 from 11.00 a.m to 6.00 pm in the DKM College. The Department of Microbiology has organized an extension service for School students (1 to 5thstd) on 14.12.15 at Government Elementary School, Kangeyanallur. The students of B.Sc. III year Microbiology, DKM College for Women, actively participated in various kinds of activities. The details of the programs organized have been given below.
