 Kavignar Bharathiyar Birthday Celebration

A Computer Science  exhibition entitled “Exhi-Vahanza ’17” as conducted on 21-09-2017  by the Computer Science and Appliation department .

The inauguration function was organised at D’Block Conference Hall  and the programme was inaugurated by the principal, Dr. P. N. Sudha and Chief Guest Dr. R. Raj Kumar, VIT.

200 students were participated in this exhibition. Best exhibits are selected. School students  and college students were invited.

An Association meeting was organized by the  Department of Commerce(Aided) on 07.12.2017 thursday in D block conference hall. The meeting started at 10.15 am with Tamil Thai Vazlhthu. Dr.R.Padmaja, Associate Professor & HOD welcomed the gathering. Dr.A.Sudarvizhi introduced the theme of the association meeting to the audience. The Session started at 10. 30 am.

Dr.J.Srinivasan, Associate professor , Department of commerce, R.V.Government Arts college, chengalpet was the resource person of the day.He spoke on the topic “life skills”.  He narrated the need  of  various life skills required by an individual to be successful in the society. He highlighted the role of  various life skills like time management, stress management, better communication, managing interpersonal relationships, emotional balance, coping with stress, coping with emotions,critical thinking, analytical thinking etc. he explained the concept to the students with  various  vedios and cartoons.  The students of I B.Com, II B.Com, III B.Com participated  and were benefited.

This was followed by the interaction session. The students raised many questions relating to managing time which was cleared by DR. J.Srinivasan with live examples. Dr.T.Bharathi proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting ended at 12.45 pm with National Anthem.

A science exhibition entitled “Science in day today life” was conducted on 12-09-2017  by the Physics department . The inauguration function was organised at Kaveri hall and the programme was inaugurated by the principal, Dr. P. N. Sudha.

Nearly, thirty nine exhibits were presented by the students from various departments at the Physics lab.  These exhibits were visited by all the staff and students from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Dr. P. G. Aradan, Assistant Professor, GTM College, Gudiyattam acted as chief guest for the Valedictory function. He evaluated and selected the  best five exhibits and distributed the  prizes to the winners.

           Department of History in Collaboration with Vellore Head Post Office Conducted an Awareness programme to promote saving scheme, philately among student at “D” Block Conference hall on 14.09.17 at 10.00 a.m.

           Chief Guest Mrs. K. Vijaya, the Superintendent of Post office, Vellore Division, Vellore spoke about the saving schemes available at the post office and different types of stamps. She motivated the students to have saving habit and requested them to open saving accounts in post office. 

        Mr. Murali, Assistant Superintendent of Vellore Division, Mr. S. Selva kumar marketing executive and  other members of postal department  were also present. They helped and guided the students to open saving accounts. Nearly 1000 Students were benefited by this programme.

            Another speaker Mr. M. Tamilvanan, Philatelist conducted a philatelic Workshop on the Topic “The History of  Stamps”. He explained about History of Stamps, various types of Stamps and the importance of the hobby of Philately. He said Philately is the king of hobbies. According to the Research conducted by the California University for the Depressed,  proved that the habit of collecting stamps by the depressed people highly helped them to reduce their stress. He stressed upon the Philately hobby have made man wealthy as well as happy.
