The meeting started at 09.30 a.m. in the D block conference hall. Dr.J.Shanthi librarian welcomed the gathering. After the words of felicitation by the secretary and the principal, the chief guest gave his special address.

The chief Guest of the day was Dr.P.Vinayagamoorthy, University Librarian, Thiruvalluvar University. He gave Special speech on “Information Literacy”. He insisted that students should develop reading habits in their day to day life which will uplift their standard. He extended a special invitation to all the students & research scholar’s to Thiruvalluvar University to access the university library for e-resource.

The Principal in her Speech underlined the resources availability and regarding the development of library in our college and usage of library by students and staff is fast increasing day by day. Students must develop themselves through information technology in our Digital library.

Secretary highlighted that the students should have reading habits and mentioned that text books and Reference books are the two parallel railway tracks in everyone’s life. He encouraged and motivated the students to give review of the book and students will be awarded either by books or Cash prize.

Book Exhibition was also arranged on 22.08.2017 & 23.08.2017 in our campus all subject books and motivational books were exhibited.

After the distribution of prizes Mrs.R.Nirmala proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting ended at 11.30 pm with National anthem.

More than 100 students participated in various competition, and more than 25 students won the prize in various competition conducted by Department of Library.

The Prize winners are

YRC Blood donation camp was organized on 13.09.2017. Thirty   units of blood were given to Government Medical College Hospital, Adukkamparai, Vellore.

Swatch Bharath programme was organized at Government High school, Edayanchathu Panchayat , Vellore district on 17.08.2017 by YRC  unit of DKM College.  120 YRC Volunteers from III B.Sc Mathematics and III B.Com involved in the cleaning process of the school campus.

25 saplings were planted within the campus.

DKM College for Women (Aided) celebrated the Teachers day for the Academic year 2017 – 2018, on 5^th September in our college campus. The celebrations started at 10.00 a.m. with the prayer song and the welcome address was given by the Principal Dr. P.N. Sudha.

After lighting of the kuthuvillaku, the secretary Mr. D. Maninathan gave his  words of felicitation.

Dr. P. Sivaraji, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Associate professor and Head , Department of Tamil, Islamiah College (Arts), Vaniyambadi was the chief Guest of the day. He spoke on the values of the Teacher and highlighted the role of students in the modern world.

After his Teachers day message, Cash Awards were distributed to the deserving students. Nearly 265 students from the 5 Major departments of Aided stream were given cash awards amounting to Rs. 18,330.

The celebrations ended at 12.30 p.m. with the National Anthem

Mr. D. Sengottaiyan MVSC, District Revenue Officer Vellore was the chief guest. He Inaugurated the free coaching centre for the present and Alumnae students of DKM College to take up the central and state level UPSC/TNPSC/IAS/IPS competitive exams. Also the Free book bank facility for the benefit for the present students was inaugurated by him. In his Inaugural address, he highlighted the need and role of women in the competitive exams and their role in the Nation’s development. He gave tips to face the competitive exams easily without any fear. He shared his own experiences while taking up the TNPSC Exams which was admired by the students.

Mr. Senthilkumar M.A,M.Sc,IMBA, from Employment office  Vellore, spoke on “How to the Face Competitive Exams”. He gave tips on how to prepare oneself for quantitative and aptitude tests and how to get ready for the competitive exams.

The CAREER  AWARENESS PROGRAM ON THE COURSE COMPANY SECRETARY  was organized by the Department of Commerce on 18.07.2017 Tuesday  in the D-BLOCK CONFERENCE HALL  at 10.00 am.        The programme started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu.   Dr. R.Padmaja, Head, Department of Commerce(aided) welcomed the gathering. Dr. P.N.Sudha, Principal gave the words of felicitation. Ms.Nishita Singhal, Assistant Director,ICSI-SIRC , Bengaluru was the resource person of the day. She gave a detailed PPT  presentation on the various job offers available after completion of UG,PG and Research courses in commerce. She underlined the qualities required to be employable in the job market. She highlighted the need of qualified company secretaries in the future. Queries of the student were cleared by the resource person then and there. After the interaction and feedback session vote of thanks     was proposed by Dr. A.Sudarvizhi. Around 250 students participated in the awareness session and got benefited. Dr.T.Bharathi, compeered the programme. By 12.30 pm the programme ended with the National  Anthem.

The Inauguration of the College Union and its Allied Associations (Aided) was held on 14^th  July 2017 at 10.00 am.  The welcome address and the introduction of the chief guest were given by our Principal, Dr.P.N.Sudha.

Mr.D. Maninathan, Secretary of our college presided over the function and delivered the presidential address . 

Dr.S. Santha Lakshmi, Assistant Professor , Department of Chemistry presented the minutes of the College Union for this academic year 2017-2018.

Dr.I.Stanley Jones Karunakaran, Principal –in-charge, HOD of Tamil & Associate Professor, Voorhees College, Vellore was the chief guest of the day and delivered the inaugural address.

The College Union office bearers got their insignia as a mark of holding their respective offices from Dr.I.Stanley Jones Karunakaran. The leaders took charge of their new official duties on that day.
