Women Development is the most important requirements for the upliftment and progress of our nation. In the effort to make D.K.M College a strong kernel of gender sensitization, the Women Development Cell (WDC) was constituted. The Cell has both the faculty and students of the College as its members and works with an aim to create a gender sensitized community within campus as well as in the society. It has been organising varied academic, technical, medical, cultural and social events for the upliftment of women and spread the real importance of gender equality in the society through College students.
The activities of the Cell are planned and organized by a team of faculty. With the objective of sensitizing the student community, the Cell has offered various courses, organized competitions as well as awareness programmes.

Anti ragging cell takes care of ragging free campus. On the first day of college reopening, first year students are informed about the cell and even senior students are also been educated to keep a cordial relationship with their juniors.Our college campus is completely free from ragging. The anti ragging committee includes the Principal, the co-ordinator, all the HOD’s of major department and one student representative from each class. The Government rules and regulations and the UGC Guidelines are informed to the students in the assembly and also an undertaking is obtained from the First year students and the parents every year.
GUIDELINES
It is the mission of D.K.M College for Women to provide quality education without compromising on standards and values. It is also dedicated to fostering independent thinking amongst its students.
There are several ways in which students’ grievances are addressed in our College. Grievance Redressal Cell looks into the grievances of the students. It was setup in view of effectively addressing the problems of the students. A complaint box is installed in the campus and students are free to post their grievance if any and effective measures are taken immediately to address the problems.
The Principal is the first and final authority whom any student can approach directly in case of any complaints.
Government of India offers scholarship for backward & most backward class students and Government of TamilNadu offers scholarship for Scheduled castes & Scheduled tribes. Under this scheme, many of our college students were benefited every year. Every year more than 700 students are getting scholarship through our college. (more…)
DKM College for women believes in empowering women through holistic education..It’s systematic approach has laid the platform for nurturing many talents. Our department organizes many sports and games events. The college has successfully produced 86 University Blues. A significant number of our students have been recruited by the state government for their excellent performance in sports.
